Paratransit ADA Program
The Interurban Trolley
Access is the curb-to-curb paratransit program for the Interurban
Trolley. The paratransit program is a general public transportation
service for disabled persons unable to use the Interurban Trolley fixed
route system. The paratransit program serves the same general service
area the Trolley buses operate (see the map below).
The Interurban Trolley Access provides a way for persons whose physical
or mental disabilities prevent them from using the Interurban Trolley
bus to travel in Elkhart and Goshen, Indiana. The Interurban Trolley
Access uses accessible minivans equipped with ramps for wheelchair
The Interurban Trolley Access operates the same hours as the
Interurban Trolley, Monday through Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
and on Saturday from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Pick-up times cannot be made
earlier than 5:00 a.m. or later than 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and
6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The Interurban Trolley Access does not operate on Sundays and major
holidays (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day).
The Interurban Trolley buses are lift-equipped; however, if you are
disabled and/or unable to use the bus, you may be eligible to use the
ADA Paratransit service. You must complete an application documenting
your disability or reasons you are unable to ride the Interurban Trolley
bus. Anyone who wishes to use the Interurban Trolley Access must apply
and be found eligible prior to using the ADA Paratransit service. The
