Transpo and Interurban Trolley Announce Route and Schedule Changes

The South Bend Public Transportation Corporation (Transpo) and the Interurban Trolley will launch redesigned bus networks on Monday, June 2, 2025. The changes follow the completion of the CONNECT Transit Plan (https://www.connecttransitplan.com/) which was nearly two years of research, planning, public engagement and development.

The CONNECT Transit Plan was completed in a partnership between Transpo, MACOG, and the Interurban Trolley and led by transit-planning experts Jarrett Walker + Associates. The plan resulted in a Short-Term (budget-neutral) Network along with an Additional Funding Network which is a longer range, 10-year plan that envisions expanded service and would require additional funding be secured prior to implementation.

The Short-Term Network changes will be implemented on Monday, June 2 and include route adjustments to improve service to major destinations throughout the cities of South Bend and Mishawaka as well as improve the connection between South Bend, Mishawaka and Elkhart. An overview of the upcoming changes is available online at https://www.sbtranspo.com/connect-transit-plan/ and on the CONNECT Transit Plan website at https://www.connecttransitplan.com/implementation. Additional information including updated route maps and schedules will be rolled out in the upcoming weeks.

Passengers may notice bus stop signs have been installed at new bus stop locations and will be effective with the start of the Short-Term Network. A QR code is located on each sign linking to additional information. Some current stop locations will be removed and there will be some changes to the routes served by existing stops.

Passengers are also encouraged to download the free Passio Go app on Google Play of the App store for real-time bus tracking information on both systems along with the location of bus stops. Passio Go shows current route and schedule information and will be updated to include the changes on June 2.
